Six things for your Saturday.
ONE | This post from Carol Bruess on Wit & Delight. I’ve been thinking a lot about what rebellion looks like, and I have a sneaking suspicion that in a world filled with harshness, the answer might just be hope, gentleness, and curiosity.
TWO | The prayer for peace that I keep coming back to. A prayer for the huggers, the Zoom fatigued, the ones whose worth feels bound up in their ability to be productive.
THREE | Looking forward to reading this book when my hold comes up at the library. I’ve been basking in Mr. Rather’s wisdom for a while now on Twitter, and these days, there are very few things I can imagine myself needing more deeply than a reminder that we have far more in common than not.
FOUR | I’ve given up on t-shirts for t-shirts’ sake and committed to buying shirts that send a message and support organizations that are doing the work of justice. Buy my #BlackLivesMatter tee here, and my very well-loved “Love Anyway” sweatshirt here.
FIVE | If you need a laugh, this video has kept me cracking up for days.
SIX | I haven’t been able to stop thinking about all the wisdom crammed into this podcast episode about how rather than ignoring our individual and collective pain, we have to be determined to make this change us.
Honorable mention: A fun item from my wishlist. “For the good-humored activist in your life,” one reviewer said.
I’d love it if you shared what’s on your mind in the comments below.
