Currently | July
loving | This sermon, these pens, my writing fuel board, She Reads Truth, my LGR's laugh, talks with my best friend over froyo, and this planner have brought me so much joy this month.
needing | What my soul needs is a week's worth of rain. It hasn't rained here in a month of Sundays, and all I want is to snuggle up in my comfy pants and read all the books to the sound of big, fat rain drops. Until then, I will press play on the nature noise playlist on Spotify and pretend.
wanting | Right this very second, I looked at C and said "I don't think I want anything."
reading | Jesus Feminist, by Sarah Bessey. This book was a game changer. The way Sarah weaves the truth of Christ through the fabric of her own story is absolutely beautiful. I cried the whole way through this book, and I cannot recommend it highly enough.
Unashamed, by Christine Caine. How could I watch that sermon and not immediately go purchase the book and read the whole thing in three sittings? I honestly didn't know much about Christine Caine prior to watching this sermon and reading Unashamed, but oh my gosh, I love her.
The Best Yes, by Lysa TerKeurst. This was my second reading of this book, but I think I got more out of it this time. I have genuinely been seeking wisdom, and this book has so much insight. It has shaped my faith and how I view my everyday life.
Big Magic, by Elizabeth Gilbert. I absolutely adore Liz Gilbert, so needless to say, I was elated to see that she had written a book about writing and creative living. And it is beautiful, from cover to cover. Reading the words, I feel like Liz is sitting across the table from me in my favorite coffee shop, mentoring me, and relentlessly calling out my creativity and refusing to let me get away with one more second of living any other way but in awe.
contemplating | Starting a bi-weekly book club with my best friend. We have so much of the same taste when it comes to reading, and I can't think of anything more homey than hosting a group of women to get down to the nitty gritty of what God is doing.
feeling | So peaceful since I gave up social networking for a week and spent some serious time in prayer.
listening | The Oh Hello's are my very favorite right now. So dreamy. Also all the Bethel and Elevation Worship on repeat forever and always.
watching | Pushed pause on FNL to watch new episodes of Criminal Minds on Netflix this month because if there is one show we will always agree on, it is this one.
wearing | These ON jeans like they're going out of style, and these sandals so often that I have tan lines.
learning | All about the wilderness and God's faithfulness. Lots of fresh perspective and I'm so, so grateful for where I am.
wishing | That Autumn would be here tomorrow.
Tell me all about your July, friends. Don't leave anything out.
